Vice President

Vice Presidents play an integral role in the continued success of the agency; they are responsible for all aspects of agency development including client service standards, service offerings, people, and teams. They oversee and manage several accounts. VP’s work with Co-founders in developing new agency goals and deliverables, driving business goals and metrics, and providing oversight and counsel on team structure. Additionally, VP’s are responsible for the success of their accounts including overall strategy and positioning, highest level client and media contact, and major events, launches, or news. In addition, they participate in the continued success of the agency through participation on the Leadership Team, and by mentoring and formally career coaching within the agency.



  • 8-12 years public relations, media relations, corporate communications (can be combined)
  • 5-7 years direct experience supervising individuals and managing teams
  • 4+ years project management

Responsible For:

  • Project Management: Responsible for the overall success of client programs and account teams
  • Client Relations: Provides highest level strategic counsel/input; interacts with senior and C-level executives; leads media training and client training sessions, presentations, etc.; prepares clients for high priority interviews and announcements; manages conflict and resolution; demonstrates excellent judgment in difficult client and staff situations; up-levels client concerns; responsible for overall account health
  • Strategy: Strategic problem solver for teams, clients, and the agency; grows existing accounts through additional agency service offerings; develops and drives creative communications plans that achieve client and agency goals; demonstrates understanding of client brands and overarching communication goals; develops and oversees strategic programs; contextualizes client goals within the industry to make proactive recommendations around clients objectives and strategies; develops and drives initiatives on account teams and agency wide; consultant to clients and internal peers
  • Media/Analyst Relations: Develops and oversees major media strategies and programs; manages crises; directly involved in success of high-stakes media opportunities and events; has established relationships with multiple, top-tier media/analysts across a variety of sectors, and leverages relationships to secure strategic media opportunities for the clients and agency; provides industry visibility for the agency
  • Content Creation: Excellent at high quality writing and editing of all materials; creates and edits presentations and plans
  • Messaging/Positioning: Provides strategic insights and counsel; leads positioning/messaging sessions
  • Account Management: Manages team with a focus on Supervisor and Director development; responsible or actively involved in in profitability of accounts; reviews client budget, monthly billing, and client communication; reviews and ensures Hatch contributions is apparent; leads client forecasting and discussions around budget
  • Agency Roles: Plays a leadership role in new business process; leads agency trainings; participates in hiring decisions; is a Career Coach and prepares annual reviews;  proactively mentors and provides feedback and constructive suggestions to teams/peers; motivates teams, provides employee training and development; is a member of the Leadership Team; has overall responsibility for account and team health; leads discussions and participates in decisions around the future of the agency, clients, and staff; represents agency and/or clients at key industry events; drives new business efforts and strategy
